Behind the Scenes of Rosewood & Sage: Daily Operations & Challenges

Ever wondered what it’s like to run a handcrafted business? At Rosewood & Sage, every product we create—from glitter tumblers to floral car coasters—has a story. Today, we’re giving you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at our daily operations and sharing some of the challenges we face as a small business.

Our Morning Routine: Coffee First, Creativity Second

Each day starts with a cup (or two!) of coffee and planning out the work ahead. Whether it’s fulfilling orders, creating new designs for our tumblers, or scheduling social media content, mornings are all about setting the tone for the day.

I like to have my day scheduled as best as possible, so checking my planner first thing is essential. This helps me avoid spending too much time on one project or getting scatterbrained and forgetting important tasks. Staying organized is key!

The Creative Process: From Idea to Final Product

Creating each item in our shop is truly a labor of love. I’m constantly brainstorming new themes and ideas for both glitter and sublimation tumblers. The best part? Actually making them and seeing how they turn out! Right now, I’m working on some spring-inspired glitter tumblers. Eek—I’m so excited! 🌸

I’m also whipping up a really cool new collection for our skinny tumblers. I can’t reveal too much just yet, but I can say the story behind them is something I think a lot of people will relate to. I can’t wait to share this collection with you all soon!

The Challenges We Face (and How We Overcome Them)

Running a small business is incredibly rewarding, but it comes with its fair share of challenges. Here are some of the biggest ones we face—and how we tackle them:

  • Seasonal Slowdowns: Like any business, we experience slower months. During these times, we focus on creating new content, launching limited-time collections, and engaging heavily with our community. This also gives us a chance to put time and energy into production and backend work without feeling rushed.
  • Balancing Creativity with Operations: It’s easy to get caught up in the creative side, but managing inventory, packaging, and customer service is just as important. Having a well-planned daily schedule has been key for keeping time management under control and ensuring every part of the business gets the attention it needs.
  • Social Media Changes: Staying visible on Instagram and TikTok requires constant adaptation to new trends and algorithms. Honestly, this has become one of my favorite tasks! It was a learning curve in the beginning, but now I absolutely love it.

Despite these challenges, we’re driven by our passion for creating beautiful, meaningful products and connecting with our customers. That’s always been our top priority!

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Rosewood & Sage

We’re always dreaming up new ideas and finding ways to grow. Stay tuned for upcoming collections (there’s a big one coming up soon!), exclusive promotions, and even some fundraising efforts for causes close to our hearts.

Thank you for joining us behind the scenes! We’re grateful for every order, comment, and message we receive—it’s because of you that we get to do what we love. If you want to stay updated, follow us on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok for all of the fun!

Until next time,
